The APME Virtual Webinar Series aims to build new cross-cultural connections, foster dynamic discussions, and strengthen community networks through a series of ten online workshops held once a month from February 2025 – January 2026. The National Park Service Museum Management Program presented each webinar (see the Resources for their handbook).

Each session introduces and explores different aspects of museum work, including collections management, exhibition development, conservation, preservation, and disaster response. The course covered the following topics:

  • Webinar 1: Welcome and Introductions
  • Webinar 2: Museum Collections Policy & Accessioning
  • Webinar 3: Cataloging & Inventory
  • Webinar 4: Making Collections Accessible Online
  • Webinar 5: Museum Risk Management: Emergency Planning, Security & Fire Protection
  • Webinar 6: Museum Environment, Integrated Pest Management, & Museum Housekeeping
  • Webinar 7: Risk Management Workshop Slide Uploads
  • Webinar 8: Deaccessioning & Loans
  • Webinar 9: Museum Storage, Handling and Packing
  • Webinar 10: Introduction to Exhibits

The series is facilitated by the National Park Service Museum Management Program, and the online gatherings convene a diverse cohort of museum curators, collections managers, and cultural heritage stewards.

The primary goal of this series is to foster mutual learning and build a trusted network of museum and heritage professionals based in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Upon completion of the program, participants are encouraged to stay connected, continue sharing best practices, and develop ongoing support systems within the region.
